You must apply for a van permit if you are coming to the recycling centre in a van, hire van, pick-up truck, or with a twin axle trailer.

To help us monitor the number of visits, Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and CCTV is used at the all recycling centres.
Please make sure you separate your waste and recycling so you can put them in the right container when you arrive.
Please check our A-Z recycling guide for a full list of what you can take.
You can take hardcore and rubble from DIY projects to a recycling centre. You are limited to the amount of rubble you can take in one visit. The limit is five (900mm x 600mm) rubble sacks per visit.
Renew is an ambitious and unique project which aims to create value from waste to benefit Greater Manchester. It’s a joint initiative between R4GM & SUEZ UK. We take items donated at recycling centres across Greater Manchester, then we repair and renew them at our Renew Hub, ready to be resold to a new home. Browse our wide range of pre-loved items by visiting our Renew Shops or eBay page.
Money raised by the shops will go to support local communities through two Greater Manchester initiatives. Each year money raised through sales made in the Renew shops will be donated to Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity and Recycle for Greater Manchester Community Fund.
You can now donate a range of unwanted items at all recycling centres across Greater Manchester (except Reliance Street) to help stock our new Renew shops selling pre-loved household items at affordable prices, for more information visit our Renew page
