We’ve opened three Renew shops in Greater Manchester. These shops sell pre-loved household items at an affordable price and are located at three of our recycling centres.
The Renew shops stock a wide variety of homeware, garden furniture, toys, sports equipment, books and more. Items have been donated by residents and cleaned and repaired before being handpicked by staff for the shops in Eccles, Oldham and Altrincham.
The aim of the Renew shops is to reduce waste, reuse unwanted items and increase recycling rates. Many of the items donated by residents would have otherwise gone to waste.
All money raised by the shops will go to support local communities through two Greater Manchester initiatives. Each year money raised through sales made in the Renew shops will be donated as follows:
£100,000 to the Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity
£220,000 to the Recycle for Greater Manchester Community Fund

We are now selling bagged compost at our Renew shops, which is made from food and garden waste from across the North West. It is Richmoor compost which is naturally peat free. You can also buy compost online for collection at the Renew Hub.

You can now donate a range of items to be renewed and resold through our Renew Shops, including household items, electrical items, toys, furniture and more!
Items should be in good visual condition with no parts missing.

Yes, you can now browse our eBay store, pay for your items and collect from the Renew Hub at Trafford Park at a time that suits you. Renew Market
The shops are card payment only, all cards are accepted.
Unfortunately we are unable to reserve items.
You may return an item to the shop within 30 days of purchase with a valid receipt.
This is not a service that we currently offer.
Goods carried in vehicles are the responsibility of the owner who should follow safe driving practices and ensure the roof rack is suitable for their vehicle and the weight of the goods.
Unfortunately we do not have staff available to provide this service and advise customers to consider this when purchasing larger items.
The shops will be accessible with a temporary ramp. There is a bell to alert staff who will be able to help.
Unfortunately, customers are unable to access the shops on foot due to safety as the household waste recycling centres are not designed for pedestrians. They can be accessed by bike. The shop at Arkwright Street can be accessed on foot as long as pedestrians stick to the marked out path to the site.
Due to safety, children are advised not to leave the vehicle on the household waste recycling centres. There is a footpath from the car park to the shop at the Arkwright Street shop and so we advise parents to be cautious if they choose to take their children with them.

Unfortunately this is not a service currently offered but may be something that we look at in the future.
