We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity at the HUB, for a city and guilds qualified Bicycle Repair Operative.


About The Role

Location: Nash Road, Trafford Park, Manchester, M17 1SX

Essential requirements; City & Guilds Level 2 Cycle Mechanics and at least 1 years previous experience in bike repairs & maintenance.
 
– Salary £25,725.00 per annum / £13.32 per hour
– Shift pattern: Monday – Friday 
– Start times: 08:00am – 16:00pm 
– Full UK driving licence required. 
– Based at Nash Road, but may also be required to travel to other locations within the Greater Manchester area.
– Flexible approach to work required, as occasional weekend cover may be required. 
– As Bike Pod Technician you will also provide support and cover to all areas of the Renew project in Greater Manchester.

Duties/Responsibilities
– Examine bicycles and identify parts that may need to be repaired, replaced, or otherwise modified.
– Installs, repairs, and replaces various equipment including handlebars, stands, lights, and seat.
– Adjusts vehicle components according to customer request or company specifications.
– Installs and adjusts speed and gear mechanisms.
– Installs new vehicle parts or accessories as directed.
– Disassembles axles when required to repair, modify, or replace faulty parts.
– Performs other related duties as assigned.
– Good knowledge of cycle products and the industry
– You must work well under pressure and enjoy working as part of a small team.
– Must be flexible to work weekends when required.
– Required Skills/Abilities:
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
– Understanding of basic mechanical principles, practices, and procedures as related to the bicycle.
– Ability to listen, read, or follow directions.
– Ability to use basic tools.
– Excellent problem-solving 
– You must have excellent communication skills and understand the importance of great customer service.
– Desirable Education and Experience:
– City & Guilds – Level 2 Cycle Mechanic
– At least one years’ experience in cycle maintenance 
– Previous customer sales/service experience (preferably in the cycle industry)
