Litter picking equipment

We can arrange for you to borrow some litter pickers from our partner Suez and can provide large bags for your litter picking event.

If you would like to borrow some litter pickers or request for some bags, please read the terms and conditions and contact us education@recycleforgreatermanchester.com

Please contact your council directly to arrange the disposal of your bags of litter.

Book a virtual session

You can book a live virtual session for your group to talk about recycling right with one of our education officers. Visit here or email education@recycleforgreatermanchester.com for information.



Thank you bin crew colouring sheet

Use this colouring in sheet to show your thanks to the bin crews.

You can stick it on your bin or in your window.

Share a photo of your picture with @recycle4gm #wavetowasteworkers

They really do appreciate a smile and a wave.

Bin collection reminder poster

Use this blank wheelie bin poster to put up in your windows to tell your neighbours about your bins. This is a nice activity for children to do.

Colour in the bin with the correct colour and write a helpful message such as:

  • “This bin is being collected this week” or  ”Thank you” show the bin crew your thanks.
  • You could draw some pictures of items that can go in this bin and write “These things can go in this bin”.

Event posters

Events posters for you to use to plan and advertise your own recycling or reuse event.

Example events could be a “bring and swap” event for clothes, toys ,books etc or an upcycling workshop, bike repair cafe.

Recycling poster

A blank poster for you to make your own recycling messages.

Example uses to display in your window? Community centre?

“Don’t forget to put your brown bin out this week”.
“Bin collection change due to holidays..check your calendar”.
“Don’t forget aerosol cans can be recycled”.

A set of posters which shows what goes in each bin for the area you live in- remember to only print the area you live in to get the right four bins.

Your group have to decide whether an item is suitable for:
• One of their bins at home
• Donation to charity
• Taking to the local Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC)

Be Battery Aware

Batteries don’t go in any of your bins at home. Old batteries may seem ‘dead’ but they can still cause fires if you don’t dispose of them properly. They can be crushed in bin lorries or waste sorting plants and start fires.
