Used engine-oil is a hazardous waste and should never be poured down a drain, onto the ground or placed in a household bin. If handled incorrectly it can pollute water and harm the environment.
To dispose of it safely, store the oil in a clean, sealed container until you can take it to a household waste recycling centre.
Once at a centre ask a member of staff to direct you to the right container.
