The Renew Hub is bringing a Reuse Revolution to Greater Manchester!

When you donate your unwanted items at the Renew container at your local recycling centre, they are taken to the Renew Hub. Here, they’re cleaned up, mended if necessary, or upcycled before they’re sent on to one of our three Renew shops. Larger or more premium items are sold through our eBay shop, Renew Market.

In this way, hundreds of tonnes of pre-loved items which would have otherwise gone to waste are made available to Greater Manchester residents at affordable prices.

Money raised via Renew goes back to the local community through the Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity and the R4GM Community Fund.

The Repair Pods

We work with a range of partner organisations who focus on repairing white goods and small electrical appliances, restoring and upcycling of furniture, and bicycle repair and maintenance. Meet some of our partner organisations…

Manchester Bike Kitchen repairs and refurbishes bikes that are donated in our collection containers. They work to restore the bikes to a safe working order before they are sold in our shops and online. They operate as a non-profit organisation separate to the Renew Hub who encourage people to learn how to fix their own bikes, as well as providing training and employment opportunities to the local community.

We work with Recycling Lives Charity at our Renew Hub. It provides team members through its rehabilitation programme, who repair and PAT test electrical goods received from our recycling centres. The committed staff ensure the electrical items we sell are safe to use in your home.

Meet The Team

Our team includes experts from all sectors, all working together to make the Renew Hub a success. Here’s just a few of the Renew Hub team:

Poll

Renew Hub Supervisor

Poll works here at the Renew Hub to ensure that everything runs smoothly. She coordinates the deliveries from our containers around Greater Manchester and upon arrival at the hub she ensures that all the items we receive are correctly sorted and allocated to the right team to fix it before it is sent out to the shops or posted on eBay.

Ryan

Click & Collect Supervisor

Ryan runs our eBay page and click & collect service at the Hub. Having worked in retail previously and having a flair for photography, he has an eye for detail and chooses the best finds that come into the Renew Hub to upload to eBay. He will be on hand when you come to collect your items and help with anything that you may need.

Paul

@patchperfectacademy

Paul works at the Renew Hub alongside running his own business Patch Perfect Academy. He and his team are responsible for the reupholstery that takes place before our donations are ready for sale. Paul also teaches his skill to others both here at the Renew Hub and externally through his own company. Through the use of donated fabrics, Paul ensures that waste is kept to a minimum and very few new materials are required.
