Share your #RecycleWeek tips for a chance to win

23rd-29th September 2019

The theme for this year’s Recycle Week is  ‘It’s in your own hands.’

Share your tips for a chance to win

We would love for you to get involved by telling us how your  school or community group takes recycling into your own hands.

Share your Top 3 Tips and photos of how you recycle at school or your community venue by tweeting using @recycle4gm and using the hashtags #RecycleWeek  #InOurOwnHands or send an email to recycle4gm@greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk

Here’s an example:

Manchester Community School is taking recycling#InOurOwnHands by:

  1. Appointing student Recycling Officers to encourage the rest of the school to recycle correctly
  2. Having a ‘Waste-Free Lunch’ day once a month
  3. Having a ‘Create a Recycling Superhero’ competition

In return for sharing your ideas, we will enter each school/community group that send us their tips, into a prize draw.

The prize

A paid for return journey for one class/group (hire of a coach, up to the value of £500) from the location of school/community venue to either our Bolton education centre or Manchester education centre.

There are two prizes available. The prizes will be awarded to two different schools/community groups.

Please read the Terms and Conditions before you take part.

Recycle Week activity idea for school or community groups

During Recycle Week, you might like to deliver a recycling based session or lesson. We have created a session plan and resources to download which can be adapted to suit the age of your students or participants and the amount of time you have available.

The session plan includes fun interactive activities, discussion activities, main learning outcomes.
