Recycle your electricals

This year, for International E-Waste Day, Recycle Your Electricals is encouraging everyone to never bin their old, unwanted electricals and to always recycle them. This year the main focus is on those old, unwanted small electrical items, such as phones or headphones, that we keep hidden in drawers and cupboards or even throw in the bin, when they should be recycled.

The campaign will focus on electricals we no longer need by providing more information on recycling points as well as practical information on how households can recycle. A recycling locator has launched on www.recycleyourelectricals.org.uk

Here you can find  details of over 2,000 recycling points including the 20 GM household recycling centres where-is-my-nearest-recycling-centre, local retailers take back schemes, repair and reuse points, with new collection and drop-off points being continually added.

Remember  never put any batteries in any of your bins at home as this can cause fires, also dispose of your unwanted electrical items in the small electrical container at your local recycling centre.
