Following the success of the Renew pop up shop at Cobden Street Recycling Centre in October, on Sunday 19th November 2023, Longley Lane household waste recycling centre will be hosting another Renew pop up shop.
The Renew pop up shop will be located on the carpark at Longley Lane recycling centre, Sharston, M22 4RQ and open 10am – 3pm. It will be selling a wide variety of homeware, garden furniture, toys, children’s bikes, sports equipment, books and much more. All Items being sold have been donated by residents via one of the 20 Greater Manchester recycling centres. They are collected by SUEZ cleaned, tested and repaired before being handpicked by staff for the pop up shop. The shop will be card payment only.
Please note due to the shop being outside, the shop opening will be subject to weather conditions. When entering the site please follow the signs and drive carefully.
Renew is an ambitious and unique project which aims to create value from waste to benefit Greater Manchester. It’s a joint initiative between R4GM & SUEZ UK. We take items donated at recycling centres across Greater Manchester, then we repair and renew them at our Renew Hub, ready to be resold to a new home. Browse our wide range of pre-loved items by visiting our Renew Shops or eBay page. There are currently three permanent Renew shops in Eccles, Oldham and Altrincham. The Renew pop-up is a new initiative to bring Renew to more residents of Greater Manchester and to areas that do not have a permanent Renew shop.
Money raised from sales in the Renew shops and online sales goes to support local communities through two Greater Manchester initiatives. Each year £320,000 is donated to Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity and Recycle for Greater Manchester Community Fund.
